Vietnam, Top Investment Destination in Asia for 2020

ILDEX Vietnam 2020 show preview, Bangkok – Ho Chi Minh City

Vietnam is one of the best investment destinations in Asia and is the main producer of livestock and aquaculture. Vietnam not only meets domestic consumption, but also exports to many countries. The Ministry of Agriculture and Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam reported that the livestock and related sectors’ exports were worth US$855.4 million and are expected to reach $1.2 billion in the next year. According to the Directorate of Fisheries, total seafood production in September 2019 reached 733.5 thousand MT, of which capture output hit 251 thousand MT, and the aquaculture volume touched 328.5 thousand MT. This means that Vietnam is the destination that international stakeholders are interested in to expand their markets throughout Asia, and that’s why VNU Exhibitions Asia Pacific, with our strong partner, MINH VI EXHIBITION & ADVERTISEMENT SERVICES CO., LTD (VEAS), will organize “ILDEX Vietnam 2020” to provide an international business platform for the Livestock and Aquaculture industries. This show will help you to connect with buyers and to find business opportunities and will be presenting technology and innovation in equipment, machinery, and IT systems from Animal Feed to Farm Processing all in one place.

The 8th edition of the International Livestock, Dairy, Meat Processing and Aquaculture Exposition, Vietnam (ILDEX Vietnam), is structured to be an international trade exhibition covering many profiles including pig, poultry, dairy, egg and meat processing.  Top domestic and international companies will be presenting their products to top buyers and industry people in Vietnam. For over 16 years, we have promoted the Vietnamese market as a destination for international investors. ILDEX 2018 attracted 1,924 international participants from 40 countries during the 3 days of the exhibition with more than 100 successful meeting requests. ILDEX Vietnam 2020 will be held March 18-20, 2020 at Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

ILDEX Vietnam 2018, the seventh edition of the International Livestock and Dairy Meat Processing, and Aquaculture Exposition drew to a close last week having showcased 300 leading exhibitors from 28 countries and attracted 8,711 trade participants from 47 countries. The specialist trade fair included various high technology, the latest equipment and full business solutions for the livestock and aquaculture industries.  As there were interesting forms of technology on display in all areas, visitors were able to get hands-on experience of the latest in livestock equipment for farming and get new ideas to develop their businesses. The value of the livestock equipment industry will increase up to 10% in market value, and its total value is estimated to be around 14 million USD after the exhibition.

Jointly organized by VNU Exhibition Asia Pacific Co., Ltd. and Minh Vi Exhibition & Advertisement Service Co., Ltd (VEAS Co., Ltd), our influencer partner in Vietnam, the general sentiments on the success of the exhibition were reflected in the strong levels of exhibitor and buyer satisfaction with the show floor. Special thanks go to the honored guests who joined the opening ceremony event of this edition, including the Consul-General of Thailand, the Royal Thai Consulate-General (HCM), the Director of Tourism Authority of Thailand (HCM Office), the Vice Consul (Commercial) of Thai Trade Center (HCM), the Vice Chairman of The Thai Business (Vietnam) Association, the Consul General of France, the Agricultural Counselor from Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Executive Director of Korea Feed Ingredients Association, and the Consulate Generals of India, Italy, Spain, Chile and Cambodia.

Mrs. Ureerat Ratanaprukse, Consul-General at the Royal Thai Consulate-General, Ho Chi Minh City delivered a speech at ILDEX Vietnam 2018 and said that “For people in this industry, ILDEX needs no further introduction as there have already been six successful editions. With over 300 regional and international participating brands including 12 from Thailand, ILDEX Vietnam 2018 will serve as a bridge of opportunities connecting sellers and buyers both for Vietnamese and international participants. It can be surely expected that the Expo will provide beneficial technologies in response to the growing demand for livestock, aquaculture and dairy products in Vietnam. In addition, the Expo is also in line with the policy of Thailand 4.0 and the Vietnamese Government’s Industry 4.0 as well as the Master Plan on Hi-tech Agricultural Zones through 2020, which will help to integrate Vietnam’s economy into the global supply chain. Therefore, in my view, it can complement Vietnam’s Industry 4.0 in terms of agricultural technology and processing and boost trade and investment relations between our two countries.”

In two years, ILDEX Vietnam 2020 will continue to expand and the event will be held from 18 to 20 March 2020 at Hall A1-A2, SECC in HCM, Vietnam. Demand for space is increasing and is stronger-than-ever from returning and new exhibitors who want to expand their businesses in Asia. Do not miss your chance to join ILDEX Vietnam 2020, the eighth edition of the International Livestock and Dairy Meat Processing, and Aquaculture Exposition. The exhibition continues to move forward with the objective “Livestock Industry Growth, Customized Service.”

Nthabiseng Maude Mthethwa – Deputy Director at the Resource Based Industries Invest South Africa, Department: Trade and Industry Republic of South Africa said that “This is the first time that we have participated in ILDEX Vietnam to see how the exhibition is, and to find opportunities for African companies in the future. We will definitely come back again, probably with 10-15 companies for South Africa to have booths here and then we can join the seminars and business discussions to expand the market with local people.”

“I’ve been to many exhibitions but ILDEX Vietnam is the first time for me. It is a good exhibition because many people walking inside the hall are real customers, really important buyers and the leading important exhibitors in this industry. The Hosted Buyer program is a nice program because as we are buyers and plan to buy something, and we are looking for some equipment but we don’t know how to find it or what to do. So the program is really helping us to find the right people and that’s really good” according to Mr. Atakan Yilmaz CELIK – International Buyer, ACC Otomasyon, Turkey

Heat stress in poultry: old problem – new approach

Heat stress is one of the most concerned issues in poultry production, especially modern poultry breeds which have high growth rate or high egg production. It is well known that heat stress has caused several negative effects on commercial poultry including behavioral responses (panting and wing lifting), physiological responses (elevation of body temperature), digestion (lower feed consumption, reduced digestive enzymes), growth rate (feed conversion ratio and body weight gain), immune system. Corticosterone, an important stress indicator in animals, is measured to evaluate heat stress in poultry in numerous studies. However, using corticosterone level is not effective enough to detect and evaluate heat stress in poultry. In recent years, by using cutting-edge techniques, scientists have approached heat stress in animals as well as poultry at a molecular level (such as heat shock protein 70, heat shock protein 90, and other new stress indicators) to better understand the mechanism and to better evaluate the severity of heat stress. In Vietnam, due to hot and humid weather, heat stress affects poultry health and production. However, there is a lack of scientific information about this stressor in commercial and colored feather chickens in Vietnam. This presentation aims to summarize information about heat stress research in poultry and addresses some approaches to alleviate its impacts on Vietnam poultry production.
